Here we see the the center of the Mandala and the first seven completed circles and squares.
This Mandala was inspired by the artist's numerous meditative works based on concentric circles and their squares. Charles is interested in the natural phasing of this ever growing and contracting archetype and wanted to articulate the expanding pattern far enough to observe a larger cycling.
Notice the third circle from the center (light blue). This circle makes reference to the "Flower Of Life" and "Nature's First Pattern." Also notice the third square slightly overlaps the forth circle. This is the first time this happens in this expanding pattern. Another interesting detail: The corners of the fifth square are tangent to the circumference of the seventh circle. Also the sixth square overlaps two circles (#7 and #8) which is the first double overlapping.
A beautiful print on fine watercolor paper is now available of this popular Gilchrist Mandala. Charles personally creates these prints. The paper size is 13 inches by apox. 16 inches. The price is #39.95, plus $15.00 insurance, shipping, and handling anywhere in the continental USA..
